In his novel Midnight’s Exiles, author Lionel Lumb tells the story of the Dunns, an extended family of Anglo-Indians as they navigate the violence surrounding the partition of British India in 1947. Lumb knows the terrain well. He was born and raised in pre-partition Lahore.
